Promoting the postal sector’s sustainable development is an important part of the UPU’s world postal strategy. And developing the sector in a sustainable way means paying attention to the impact of postal activities on the environment and climate change.

Greenhouse gas global overview and mitigation project

The UPU has developed a specific programme, the Greenhouse Gas Global Overview and Mitigation Project, designed to measure the postal sector's impact on climate change and to encourage initiatives to reduce that impact, particularly through the exchange of sound environmental practices.
