The UPU International Bureau is currently developing a new application for the list of addresses of heads and senior officials of postal entities. The new application will be launched over the next few months.
One of the main objectives of this new application will be to make the list more dynamic and easier to use, in particular facilitating data input and retrieval by individuals who have been designated and accredited by the member countries and restricted unions. That said, the assistance of all member countries will be necessary to ensure that the list remains up to date.
To that end, the International Bureau will be calling on designated focal points to check the data and make any necessary changes through an IT interface. Before the new system can be launched, each member country will have to designate its focal point and deputy focal point for each authority (ministry, regulator and designated operator).
The focal points and their deputies will be responsible for collecting, within their respective authorities, any updates to be made (e.g. changes in persons responsible), inputting those changes in the provided interface, validating them, and ensuring that the published information remains up to date.
At this point, the International Bureau wishes to collect the details of the designated focal points and deputies within the various authorities, by means of the attached form (available in English and French only). These forms, duly completed and signed by the head of international relations or the director/secretary general of the authority concerned, are to be sent back to the International Bureau as soon as possible, but by 17 June 2019 at the latest, preferably by e-mail (addresslist(at)upu.int).
