The year 2015 saw a further decline of letter post volumes, which nonetheless still account for more than 41% of global postal revenues. The drop in the number of items seems to be compensated by higher tariffs and average weights.
Although many countries show two-digit growth in the parcel sector, this phenomenon is not universal. Moreover, the dynamics of this growth vary over time.
Global postal revenues have nominally increased by 1.6%, but in 2015 they stagnated in industrialized countries, whose shares in letter and parcel volumes are estimated to over 80% and 90%, respectively.
