| Ingmar Persson, secretary general of PostEurop, and Abdelilah Bousseta, director of development cooperation at the International Bureau, signed a joint declaration to that effect last week in Bled, Slovenia, during PostEurop’s annual plenary meeting. |

| Bernard Damien, chairman of PostEurop’s management board, said that the signing of the joint declaration was an important step in realizing the postal development plan by 2012. |

| The UPU plan defines the priority actions and projects needed to bring improvements to the mail network of a specific region. |
| |
| The two organizations will work on projects such as ones designed to enhance the quality of service of international and intra-regional mail exchanges, among others. |
