Key challenges the company is addressing:
 

• Cross-border e-commerce technology is costly

Postal legacy systems are built around domestic and mail products. In-house IT development to address cross-border e-commerce is costly.
 

• Declining mail revenues

As domestic mail volumes continue to decline, diversifying into e-commerce and parcels, as well as diversifying geographically, is important. 
 

• Inability to handle DDP (delivered duty paid) shipments

Retailers increasingly want a DDP service, which postal operators cannot offer, as there is no clearing account for such charges within the UPU set-up.
 

• Increased shipment compliance

There is an increased demand on data by customs authorities globally for revenue protection related to duties and taxes, compliance, consumer protection and security.
 

• Costly international shipping

Many postal operators rely on integrators for their international commercial service offering.
 
The solution:
 
GN TEQ provides an enterprise-level operating system, GN LIS, which offers Posts a complete white-labelled system to operate a commercial e-commerce shipping company, just like an integrator. The system can be white-labelled in its entirety or by individual modules as microservices to bridge any gap in the Post’s own systems.
 
GN LIS can handle shipping services and routeing, produces final-mile carrier labels, and creates parcel manifests for export, line haul and import clearance – all the way to final delivery. In addition, it allows data-driven decisions by providing real-time insights and tracking to improve economy and performance, and includes modules for billing, monitoring and business intelligence reporting.
