The UPU will organize its 2023 Strategy Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 4 and 5 October as part of the fourth Extraordinary Congress. Under the theme “People, purpose, progress – The next chapter for the postal sector”, the Summit will bring together ministers, CEOs and postal sector leaders to discuss the future of the postal sector. Outcomes from the discussion will help to guide the development of the Dubai Postal Strategy.

Recognizing the need to cope with rapid changes in the postal environment and considering the potential growth opportunities offered by a more inclusive sector, the 27th Universal Postal Congress decided to hold a fourth Extraordinary Congress in 2023 to examine proposals associated with the further opening up of the Union to wider postal sector players, as well as other urgent postal sector issues.

The first edition of the UPU TradePost Webinar on 20 June 2023 is under the theme of “Enhancing postal contribution in e-commerce and trade inclusion of MSMEs and under-represented communities in ECOWAS”. The webinar will bring together postal executives from the ECOWAS region, representatives from trade ministries, relevant international and regional organizations (UNCTAD, ECOWAS), and industry experts to discuss the most pressing topics, exchange experiences, and share their insights.
