Next meetings from 1 to 5 July 2024

The Postal Operations Council (POC) is the technical and operational mind of the UPU and consists of 48 member countries, elected during Congress. The body elects its own chair and meets annually at the UPU's headquarters in Berne.

Join us in commemorating this landmark year as the UPU marks its 150th anniversary! As part of this momentous occasion, we are proud to announce our partnership with the 38th edition of the annual Frauenlauf Women's Run, which will take place in the streets of Berne on 9 June 2024.

Building on the success of the first edition in 2023, the UPU, in partnership with the European University Institute’s Centre for a Digital Society (CDS) and with the support of La Poste Group France, will host the second edition of the UPU Innovation Challenge in conjunction with the 32nd Conference on Postal and Delivery Economics.

The sixth joint IATA–UPU webinar will focus on overall readiness for, expectations of, and challenges posed by compliance with mail transport requirements under the European Union’s Import Control System 2, Release 2 (EU ICS2 R2), including lessons learned from the mail in transit and transhipment proof of concept. It will also focus on the complexities of safe transport and handling of lithium batteries in the postal supply chain, providing insight into the various ways to ensure compliance and minimize risk.

The UPU Conference on Postal Regulation will be held on 2 May 2024 (during Council of Administration (CA) session S5), focusing on the theme of postal regulatory reform. It aims to explore new approaches and the evolving roles and responsibilities of the main actors in the postal sector. The panel sessions are to be preceded by a keynote speech on postal reform and the relevance of the postal service in a changing economic, technological and societal context.

The UPU, as the primary forum for fostering collaboration among global postal sector players, ensures a universal network of modern products and services. In line with its commitment to the security and resilience of the postal sector, the UPU International Bureau is organizing the Cybersecurity Forum 2024 in Berne, Switzerland, on 25 April 2024. The forum will seek to address the escalating cybersecurity challenges faced by the postal sector worldwide.
