Consultative Committee

About the CC

The Universal Postal Union's (UPU) Consultative Committee (CC), established on July 1, 2022, marked a significant milestone in the organization's history by welcoming private companies as members for the first time.

The CC represents the interests of the wider international postal sector. Its activities provide a framework for effective dialogue between stakeholders and member countries of the Union, including the development of recommendations for UPU policy, regulation and operations.

The CC facilitates this dialogue by:

  1. Ensuring the visibility of its members at an international level.
  2. Providing a sound environment that fosters sustainable partnerships.
  3. Ensuring that its members actively work with the Union and have a voice in the present and future of the international postal sector.

Message from the Chair

Walter TREZEK, Chair of the UPU Consultative Committee“Digitalization facilitates partnerships. Even the largest companies and Posts cannot do it by themselves. The new UPU Consultative Committee structure is about direct communication and dialogue, but also about interconnectivity and integration of private partners and their solutions into the existing global IT backbone of the UPU. It is about shaping the digital future of the sector together.”
