Frauenlauf Women's Race

Join us in commemorating this landmark year as the UPU marks its 150th anniversary! As part of this momentous occasion, we are proud to announce our partnership with the 38th edition of the annual Frauenlauf Women's Run, which will take place in the streets of Berne on 9 June 2024.

Each year, the race attracts more than 14,000 women from all corners of Switzerland, serving as a vibrant testament to athletic solidarity and empowerment. The race is accessible to all women, with routes ranging from a 3 km walk to a 10 km run, winding through the city of Berne within a relaxed and festive atmosphere.  

In tandem with the race, the UPU will organize a series of engaging activities to ensure an enriching experience for participants wishing to learn more about the organization. This will include a UPU booth at the sponsors’ and partners’ village (at Bärenplatz, near the Federal Palace) to present the UPU and its activities from a gender equity perspective. A competition will be held under the same theme with attractive prizes for participants.

Female staff of the UPU will be participating in the race alongside Swiss Post wearing commemorative 150th anniversary T-shirts. The UPU's participation is aimed at enhancing the organization's positive and dynamic image, while fostering openness and forging connections with the people of Berne and Switzerland.
