For 2012, Trainpost offers a wider range of courses than ever before. Two new modules are now online: one on the EMS express courier service, and another on postal reform and development.
Trainpost, the UPU's distance learning tool, is accessible globally via a simple Internet connection. No matter what qualifications they have, postal workers will easily find material to develop and build their skills and knowledge through this interactive platform.
"Since 1994, the UPU has recognized the importance of developing human resources in the postal network. The Trainpost platform was designed to standardize training at a low cost. Employees are able to follow a course in their own home, at their own pace, and communicate with tutors who answer any questions they may have," says Gerard Power, the International Bureau's Trainpost expert.
Later this year, learners will be offered a further three new modules: electronic payments and financial services; the new approach to quality of service; and dangerous goods in the post. Since the creation of the platform in 2006, over 6,325 participants from 174 countries have taken courses in areas as diverse as management techniques, regulation, human resources, products or new postal-sector technologies such as the use and management of the International Financial System (IFS) or International Postal System (IPS) interfaces.
