Consultative Committee holds first General Assembly of the 2026–2029 cycle

The Consultative Committee (CC) convened its first General Assembly of the 2026–2029 cycle on 29 April 2026 at the headquarters of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in Bern. The meeting established the strategic direction for the committee's work during the current cycle.

The Assembly brought together CC members, designated operators and stakeholders from the postal, logistics and e-commerce sectors to identify priority areas for cooperation and sector development. Discussions reaffirmed the CC’s role as a platform for integrating industry expertise into UPU processes and promoting practical, innovation-driven solutions.

Participants emphasized the importance of leveraging private sector innovation, academic research and industry experience to support digital transformation, enhance interoperability and facilitate the growth of cross-border e-commerce.

The Assembly also outlined key priorities for the cycle, including strengthening member engagement, broadening participation and reinforcing the CC’s contribution to sector-wide initiatives through more structured collaboration mechanisms.

The meeting reaffirmed the CC’s role as a facilitator of coordination and collaboration within the UPU framework.
