Scaling-up Postal Inclusive Insurance: Zooming in on innovative postal inclusive insurance models and best practices

A major gap in insurance coverage leaves over four billion low to middle income people worldwide vulnerable to major adverse events. This new UPU publication explores how postal networks with their trusted presence and broad reach are well placed to close this gap. Through case studies from six countries, the report demonstrates how posts can scale inclusive insurance, boost revenue and improve financial resilience in underserved communities.

Based on 26 postal initiatives and eight in-depth case studies, the report highlights effective strategies for delivering inclusive insurance. It shows how partnerships, technology and capacity-building can help posts make insurance a core part of their public service mission.

A companion Key Messages document offers a summary of the research, key findings, operating models and global best practices, along with recommendations on how postal networks can support national financial inclusion and scale-up efforts.
