In September 2025, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), together with 11 postal organizations, released the embroidered Dove of Peace series to mark the International Day of Peace and underscore the universal scope of this message. While the participating postal operators issued an official postage stamp, the UPU produced a matching collectible designed specifically for philatelic purposes.
Alongside the UPU, the postal operators taking part in this joint initiative are: the United Nations Postal Administration, Armenia, Austria, Barbados, Cyprus, Denmark – Faroe Islands, Denmark – Greenland, Finland – Åland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. Such a coordinated release is rare and reflects its strong symbolic significance.
The design features a white embroidered dove carrying an olive branch outlined in blue – a widely recognized emblem of peace. With its wings spread open, the dove expresses a message that transcends borders, religions, and ideologies, serving as a visual ambassador of unity.
Produced by the Austrian company Hämmerle & Vogel, this limited-edition textile creation blends the delicacy of embroidery with artistic craftsmanship, combining design, symbolism, and technical expertise across all participating issues.
The Universal Postal Union is proud to present the Dove of Peace, an exclusive collectible now available for order. Crafted with care, this emblem embodies our shared values of peace and cooperation among nations.
