The UPU technical certification program

The UPU-TechCert certification program aims to ensure interoperability and security between third party software solutions and UPU technologies.

This certification allows postal operators to implement various solutions from IT vendors, with confidence of compatibility with UPU systems.

Description

UPU-TechCert is a rigorous IT-based certification that attests to the software's ability to correctly interoperate with software developed and distributed by the UPU.

To obtain this certification, IT vendors must conduct a technical integration project with UPU software, through the UPU APIs. This certification validates the quality of this integration.

UPU-TechCert is designed to cover multiple domains and scopes within the UPU portfolio.
Domains represent different business lines of UPU Software, such as mail and logistics, postal payments, and big data/BI tools.
Scopes, on the other hand, specify the specific interfaces/APIs used by vendors and the intended purposes of their products, such as compliance engines or mobile payment applications.

The certification process primarily focuses on validating the proper functioning of interfaces, ensuring they work as intended.
In certain cases, such as with an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) check, the certification solely covers interface validation. In other cases, for scenarios like integrating a mobile payment application with the UPU network, certification includes interoperability tests to ensure compliance with business logic of the UPU network.
