Organized by the UPU Consultative Committee.
Organized by the UPU Consultative Committee, this forum will bring a private sector’s view of addressing issues and contribute to the broader UPU initiative “Addressing the world: an address for everyone”. The initiative involves the Consultative Committee and other key stakeholders such as international and United Nations organizations, which see the role addressing can play in delivering emergency services to the population, providing identities to citizens currently unable to participate in society and fostering trade and economic growth, among other things. Different private-sector stakeholders will share their perspectives and experiences on addressing in the hope to raise awareness about the state of address development worldwide. The forum will also highlight the address’s various functions in and outside the postal world and discuss the problems caused by underdeveloped addressing systems and undeliverable addressed mail and their possible solutions.
