On 27 February, the UPU Consultative Committee held its first webinar of 2024, on the theme "Automated cyber risk management to achieve digital age resilience”. Steve Remy, CEO of 8 Degrees East (co‑rapporteur of the “freight and transport” thematic chapter), organized a solution-based discussion on cybersecurity with top experts on the matter:
  • Terry Roberts, global cyber intelligence, risk and national security executive, as well as Founder, President and CEO of WhiteHawk Inc., and Expert Adviser for 8 Degrees East. Terry is also the former Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence, Office of the US Chief of Naval Operations, and was Executive Director at Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute

  • Rasha Al Abdali, Assistant Director General of Policies and Governance, MTCIT, Oman
The conversation tackled how postal operators – and the wider postal sector in general – could build resilience while facing cyber threats in an environment where AI is on the rise and technological tools are becoming increasingly complex.
