Building on the success of the first three editions, the UPU, in collaboration with the European University Institute's Centre for a Digital Society (EUI-CDS), La Poste Groupe France, India Post and Amazon Web Services (AWS), will host the fourth edition of the UPU Innovation Challenge under the theme "Powering Postal Services With Agentic AI" from 6 to 8 May 2026, held in Köln, Germany, with a supporting session organized in Ghaziabad, India – marking the first time the event is extended across two locations – in conjunction with the 34th Conference on Postal and Delivery Economics.

The Postal Operations Council (POC) is the technical and operational mind of the UPU and consists of 48 member countries, elected during Congress. The body elects its own chair and meets annually at the UPU's headquarters in Berne.
